NATUROPATHIC DOCTOR
Meet Dr. Sydne!
My Training.
My journey in healthcare began with the completion of a four year Bachelor of Science in Psychiatric Nursing (BScPN) from Brandon University. After nursing school, I licensed as a Psychiatric Nurse and worked in acute mental health at a crisis stabilization unit. Seeking to expand my role in healthcare, I moved to Toronto, Ontario where I completed a four year Doctor of Naturopathy at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. During my final year of studies at CCNM, I completed a clinical focus shift in Fibromyalgia/Myalgic Encephalomyelitis and at the CCNM Integrative Cancer Clinic (CCNM ICC). This training was instrumental in shaping my systems-based approach, teaching me how to manage the intricate needs of patients with multi-layered, chronic health conditions. Today, I am a licensed Naturopathic Doctor in good standing with the Manitoba Naturopathic Association (MNA).

My Reason.
I learned early on in my training that I wanted to practice a more integrative form of medicine. I chose naturopathic medicine because for me, it filled a gap in how we approach health, it treats the whole system, not just the symptoms. I love the time I get to sit with my patients. Hearing your story and becoming a part of your healthcare team on a deeper level is the most rewarding part of my work.
I talk openly about ADHD because it is a lens through which I view the world every day. Navigating a demanding clinical practice while managing my own mental health has given me a deep, lived understanding of what many of my patients experience. This has fuelled my passion to bridge the information gap for people who want to understand their brain better.
